Hi Rick;
I was shocked by your column. I don't usually read them, but the topic caught my eye, and I thought I'd read a bit of reactionary ranting. I was embarrassed to read "There ought to be at least some common ground between these cases, yet they are treated as if there is none. I don't have an answer on this; I'm pointing at it in amazement." Wonderfully put. I liked the whole article. And I thought of my mother, who has a very strong 'where will it end' panic when any issue comes up. Personally, I can't wait until my generations demands reparations from the boomers who appropriated our future to their own advantage. Not too likely, but a wonderful 'if'.
